Foundation "vrienden van techniek m&w" is dedicated to maintaining technical education in secondary schools

No more engineering subjects at secondary schools in our region? That must be prevented. The foundation “Vrienden van Techniek” is therefore committed to protecting the industry and technical education. This foundation, of which Huisman is also part, was set up two years ago by a business collective in the region after they heard that technical education in the area was about to be scrapped.

As Huisman Etech Experts, we believe it is important for the youth of our region that technical courses remain. Rob Huisman says: 'If there are no technology classes for potential technology students then they will leave the region and they will never come back. For the companies in our region, there will then be no people left in the long run.

A meeting was held at our office in Druten on 1 December for members of the foundation, councilors Rob Reuvers and Gérard de Wildt, the secondary school “Pax Christi College” and “TechniekLokaal”. With the meeting, the cooperation between the Pax Christi College and the foundation grew even more. Councilor for the Municipality of West Maas and Waal Rob Reuvers says of the importance of the cooperation: "Educating children here and keeping them here can only be realised through the powerful cooperation within the triangle of education, entrepreneurs and government."
